Axi is the first series designed by French designer Patrick Jouin for Italamp: a Murano glass collection where technology and tradition, experimentation and centuries-old know-how in glass manipulation coexist. Axi is a suspension with a "retro-futurist" aesthetic, composed of a tubular structure made of white borosilicate glass that contains an LED light source, interspersed with metal elements from which extend arms onto which colored art glass elements are attached, gravitating around the central element. These elements have an arched, textured surface that filters light with plays of transparency and refraction. Tubular by Sebastian Hepting for Ingo Maurer is a multifunctional glass luminaire. Lighting designer Sebastian Hepting uses an unprocessed tube of borosilicate glass. The glass tube can be rotated through 360° and can be used as downlight, uplight or wallwasher. With red diffusor and red cable or with white diffusor and blue cable. Other cables can be connected by electricians. Open, fire-polished ends emphasize the puristic design and their handcrafted character.
While the suspension of the tube consists almost invisibly of a thin wire, the other end is softly embedded in a textile loop. Puro is a boldly minimalistic variation on atmospheric pendant lights. Inspiration for the collection and its name come from the Spanish word for “cigar”, which also means “puro” and is a reference to the composition’s clean lines.
