Exploring concealed light and reflected illumination, Luna takes inspiration from the cosmos, mimicking the effect of a total eclipse by using handmade travertine or black marble discs to obscure its LED light source. Reflected by a large hand-spun brass disc, an outward halo of warm and inviting indirect light is cast.
Designed to make a statement whether turned on or off, Luna explores the contrast in tone and texture between Italian marble and travertine and J. Adams & Co.'s signature aged brass.
The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades are made of metal and painted white to ensure a diffused, comfortable light distribution.
