Description

The Sfera collection, one of the mainstays of the BROKIS portfolio, has been expanded with new shapes and sizes. Sfera lights are designed to meet the needs of projects and the architects and other professionals behind them. The sphere as a universal shape is now joined by an oval in two sizes also featuring a dramatically sheared top. The prevailing characteristic of the Sfera project light is a clean cut across the top that serves as a platform for an elegant decagonal fixture. The timeless object casts a gentle light through handblown matte opal glass, which is attached to a metal plate featuring a subtle multiangular detail. The original sphere now comes in eight sizes ranging from 150 to 600 mm and thus offers a considerable degree variability in interior installations, while a practical hexagonal BROKIS connector makes it easy to install, maintain, and clean large sets of lights as well as rearrange them without having to alter the interior. The universal beauty and simplicity of the Sfera collection mean it can be used in any space and in any number, from a single light as an elegant accent to large bespoke compositions containing various sizes and shapes.

Stemlite D38cm Pendant Suspension

The Stemlite (1962) was the first ‘total look’ lamp, a pioneering new typology conceived by American Designer Bill Curry, which replaced the traditional base-plus-shade form with a single self-contained unit comprising interchangeable modules. His debut design, the much-emulated Stemlite, was named “most influential lamp of the year” by Industrial Design Magazine in 1965, used on the set of the original Star Trek TV series, and remained in production until 1977. Now remastered by GUBI after almost half a century, the new collection comprises two table lamps, two floor lamps and a new pendant – a simple inversion of the original design – in a contemporary yet authentic color palette. Today’s Stemlite remains true to Curry’s designs, comprising three of the original heights: two table heights, one of which was originally conceived as a floor lamp and the original floor lamp height. A second, taller floor lamp has been added and a pendant light has been engineered by simply flipping the original design upside-down. A counterweight has been hidden in the negative space created by the geometry of the foot of the upright lamps to meet contemporary safety requirements regarding stability and versions of the floor and pendant lights with new larger globes are also available. Bianca Suspension

Bianca is a family of luminaires equipped with a fixed-mould blown cased glass diffuser with a milky white satin finish. The decoration on the diffuser surface features an orderly series of shallow delicate grooves etched into the white glass, yielding an effect resembling small footprints on fresh snow. Mouth blown, belt sanded and dipped in acid to obtain the distinctive 'silk effect' typical of fine glassware, Bianca diffusers are available in three different diameters to complete all thirteen types of luminaires belonging to the family. The largest diffuser has a 50 cm diameter and, owing to its dimensions and the amount of glass involved, continues to pose a considerable challenge even for the ablest of glassblowers trained in the fixed-mould blowing technique, which according to the traditional Venetian production process is performed without any external aids for turning and shaping the glass blob inside the mould, but relies solely on the glassblower's skill and lung capacity. Bianca is available in the following versions: table-top without stem, floor-standing with base and stem, pendant, wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted. The matt white coating applied to the various metal supports evokes the name and colour of the diffuser. The Small- and Medium-sized versions (with 16 cm and 30 cm diameter respectively) mount a dimmable LED board, while the Large-sized version (50 cm diameter) features an E27 lamp holder capable of housing various types of light sources.
