The story of Brokis begins almost ten years before Brokis. Janštejn Glassworks had been producing handcrafted blown glass through traditional techniques since 1809 when Czech entrepreneur and engineer Jan Rabell, hoping to save the glassworks and preserve those techniques that hadn't already been lost to time, bought it in 1997. Years of hard work and devotion followed, and led to the founding of Brokis in 2006.
Using the methods of Janštejn Glassworks to realize new and innovative designs, Brokis has today become a well-established brand, bringing its unique and extensive history of handcrafted blown glass luminaires to over ninety-five countries worldwide--now including Canada.
Beginning with Muffin--co-designed by Brokis Art Director Lucie Koldova and Dan Yeffet--Brokis has time and time again seamlessly united the traditional and technological to create distinct, sublime collections of breathtaking beauty, and will undoubtedly continue to do so.
