Setareh Suspension

This is the name of the family of lighting fixtures that Francesco Librizzi, a young Sicilian architect working in Milan, has designed for the first time for FontanaArte. Setareh was born of the idea of giving form to light. The lamp is composed of a sphere magically suspended within a thin metal structure. The play of circular masses and trajectories generates a balanced design of gravitational dynamics. The light from the sphere is diffused into the surrounding space, illuminating the frame. The reflections of the metal render the luminous field visible, space influenced by light, by its aura. The result is a collection of lighting elements, available in tabletop and suspension versions, of extraordinary poetic grace. Setareh takes on new dimensions: elongated, with either two or three spherical elements that work separately or together. Its vocation is the illumination of large spaces, with double-height ceilings or otherwise ample enough to accomodate expansive compositions of multiple elements. Geometric Oval 1/3 Top Suspension

Geometric accentuates the aesthetic expression and structure of BROKISGLASS, which itself is remarkably distinctive. The collection is defined by basic geometric shapes that characterize the overall contours of the lights and instil them with a singular graphic element to achieve a striking contrast with the animate, almost sculptural makeup of the glass. The suspension components make up the glass geometric shapes, their edges rendered in black profiles. The graphic aesthetics of the collection allow the lights to be arranged in a great number of final shapes – circle and oval – either as solitary lights or as a sort of jigsaw puzzle, which in the hands of architects can result in an endless variety of lighting combinations. Thus, the concept surpasses its primary function as a lighting fixture and opens the door to large-format blocks of light and other uncommon compositions. The name chosen for this BOMMA collection, inspired by basic geometric shapes, comes from the Greek word for ‘appearances.’ According to Plato’s teachings, phenomena are mere transient images of eternal and perfect forms and thus inherently unreal. A fitting name for objects made of glass – a material that is both rigid and flexible, as well as strong, yet fragile. These lighting fixtures, in an array of fascinating sizes, are hand-blown into custom-made forms that combine both clear and coloured glass. The colour gradient is created by being gradually blown into the molten mass, as if breathing life into this collection. The flawlessly smooth shape of the crystal light is accented by a sophisticated polished mounting, highlighting a perfect blend of materials and aesthetics.
