The Borne Béton is an icon of the Brutalist design movement. Originally designed in 1952 by Swiss-French architect and urban planner Le Corbusier, Borne Béton is a concrete outdoor and indoor floor and table lamp. Le Corbusier first conceived it to illuminate large common areas in his Unité d'habitation de Marseille and for Bhakra Dam, Sukhna Dam in India. Nemo has reissued this iconic lamp with new LED technology while maintaining true to the original design. Made from concrete, the large size weighs almost 117 pounds and stands close to two feet tall. Each lamp is a handcrafted product: small aesthetic and finishing differences between one lamp and the other make them unique. It is ideal for outdoor terraces, gardens, poolside, or to demarcate an entrance with style. As an indoor floor light, it is an unmistakable conversation piece.
