Born in Barcelona in 1978, Roger Vancells specializes in product design. He studied industrial design first at Escola Superior Disseny Arts Plàstiques LLotja, and subsequently at Escola Massana.
Roger’s interest in design grew from a curiosity to discover and a desire “to project the objects and spaces that surround us. “ This enduring curiosity is what allows him to grow, and provokes the motivation required to continue learning day by day, searching for a different path with each new project. His designs are unique and “weave a story for the admirer while being at their productive best. ”
Roger also co-manages nuklee, a studio that centres its activity on conceptualising and designing both objects and spaces, and creating experiences that bring people and brands together into a single nucleus.
Working and experimenting with new materials, Roger has designed furniture, lighting, and electronics for international brands like Bacardi, Ufesa, Inoxcrom, Gaes, and Sharp.
In collaboration with the lighting firm Estiluz, Roger recently designed the A?nima — a hanging lamp that combines beauty and sensuality, expressivity and warmth in equal parts. Perfect in any kind of contemporary space, this design with its elliptic shape frames a beam of light defined by a play of light and shade, which accentuates and highlights its delicate limits with curved contours.
