Paolo Zani is an Italian industrial designer. Established in 1992, his eponymous studio is a multidisciplinary design office, whose works ranges from the design of objects and technological products, to interior and graphic design.
In 1986, Paolo graduated from the I. S. I. A. in Faenza (Institute for Arts and Industrial Design), the school where he would return to teach Industrial Design in 1995. In 1990, he opened his own practice in Milan, working mainly in the field of household product design: ceramic tiles, table- and kitchenware, home technology, rugs and carpets, furniture, and lighting fixtures.
He considers his design activity as the 'homo faber' of optimistic expression, “motivated by synthesizing new applications of materials and technologies into the design of mass-producible as well as handcrafted products and spaces. ”
For FontanaArte, he designed the A Tomic hanging lamp in blown glass in 2003 and the Riga wall lamp in 1995.
