Since 2005, designer Lorenzo Truant has acted as the art director of Axo Light, a prestigious Italian lighting company.
Lorenzo studied architecture in Venice together with A. Romano Burelli and Heinz Tesar, where he wrote a thesis on airport design titled “Il Cielo di Treviso - Treviso Sky”.
After graduating in 2001, he worked at the research centre of a famous lighting and furniture company, where he began to specialize in product design. He also worked at Lombardi & De Carli Associati — an architecture and urbanism studio in Venice.
In 2012, Lorenzo collaborated with the prolific designer Karim Rashid to produce the Nafir Lamp for Axo-Light.
“Nafir is an example of a lamp which engages the attention whether on or off, ” Lorenzo explains. “Nafir is a functional sculpture. It is dynamic, its fluid shape becoming the expression of the light itself. ”
He is also the designer behind the striking Voluptas light series.
