When industrial designer Saleem Khattak first founded Archilume Lighting in 2006 as a way to produce his own lighting designs, LED technology was only beginning to be developed in the designer lighting industry. Indeed, it was 2013 before the technology caught up with Khattak's vision, resulting in the first released Archilume lights.
As it has built its business and selection, Archilume Lighting has focused its attention on versatility of application for its suspension lighting solutions. Beginning with Total Internal Reflection (TIR) technology to eliminate glare, Archilume has released a small but extraordinarily customizable series of sleek and distinguished luminaires. To do this, they relied on Khattak's personal recipe for design greatness: sensual appeal, the creation of visual tension, and provoking a moment of childlike wonder.
