Marcello Ziliani was born in Brescia, Italy on February 20th, 1963 — under the astrological sign of Pisces, he is quick to point out.
After studying scientific subjects at school, Marcello graduated from Architecture at Milan Polytechnic in 1989, under the supervision of famed designer Achille Castiglioni.
After three years abroad, Marcello returned to Italy and devoted himself mainly to developing design projects in the fields of furniture, accessories, lighting, bathrooms, offices, and objects for early childhood. He has also worked on exhibitions, theatrical choreography, art direction, design coordination, graphics, and communication.
“[Marcello] believes that any design project is essentially a wish, a dream of flight, and that, even if you have to run around and flap your arms in vain, sooner or later you with get to glide through the air for ten metres, ” states his personal website.
Marcello is currently in charge of Studio Zetass, an integrated organization dealing with product design, graphic design, engineering, and fitting-out. Studio Zetass works alongside qualified professionals, both in-house and from outside, with extensive knowledge in their specific sectors.
An award-winning designer, Marcello has developed products for Allibert, BBB, Bertocci, Calligaris Casprini, Ciacci, Ciatti, Donati, Flex, Flos, Frascio, Geuther, Inglesina, Infiniti, ISA, Krios, Krover, Lanzini, Magis, Modo e Modo, Norda, Olympia, Pali, Progetti, Rapsel, Sintesi, Techimpex, Vanini, Views International, Visentin, and Zago.
Since 2011, Marcello has taught product design at the University of San Marino.
