Willydilly by Ingo Maurer is a curved hanging lamp made of high-quality, light-transparent cardboard. The white cardboard shade wraps around the light source and is attached to the pull cord by a fluorescent Japanese clothes peg. The cable as well as the canopy, designed in a shape reminiscent of a cone, are homogeneously white. The respective owners of Willydilly are asked to create the "shade swing" themselves: depending on whether the shade is turned tighter or wider, the luminaire takes on an individual shape thanks to creative freedom. This results in the wonderful interplay of light and shadow, which changes depending on the orientation: if you turn the shade tighter, the light emission is reduced to a discreet light; if the shade is wider and thus more openly wrapped around the light source, the light spreads further into the room and creates brightness. The height of Willydilly can be easily adjusted with the cable over the canopy. Willydilly by Ingo Maurer is an ideal lighting medium for all corridors, spacious rooms, accentuated areas, entrance areas and high ceilings - or also a creative decorative lighting object in stylish bathrooms.
Tempo is a pendant lamp collection made with painted stainless steel mesh. This material, crafted in fine pleats, forms two overlapped layers that create two different lamps full of dynamism. Two liveliness shapes born from one. The representation of two instants generated by the same movement at a different tempo.
Inspired by the idea of chance – the uncontrolled form created by a falling cable - the Signature lamp by Ingo Maurer appears like a three-dimensional drawing in a room. The combination of a soft cable, which is connected to a springy, circular structure in simple black, creates the impression for the viewer that it has a coincidental, continuous shape. At the end of this construction, there is an elegant, deliberately inconspicuous lampshade that does not, steal the show from the tangle of cables. It blends stylishly with the overall concept and is thereby not overbearing. With a change of perspective, the way one sees the shape of the lampshade also changes: from a cone to an obliquely inclined rectangle. The lampshade made of anodised aluminium underlines the casualness of the new pendant lamp by Ingo Maurer with its asymmetry and ambiguity and provides a directional light with a GU10 light bulb.
In combination with several Signature luminaires, the shade becomes a practical tool: by hooking a cable into the bent end, the luminaires can be combined to form a large cloud, for example, or the downlight can be bent into an uplight. The design suggestions from the design team at Ingo Maurer, which are enclosed with the luminaire, provide inspiration on how to best set the scene for the pendant luminaire. However, there are no limits to your own imagination: whether wild weave or symmetrical configuration - the clips allow the cable to be connected to the shape at any point. For the construction of the Signature, the team from Ingo-Maurer relies on a black elastic rod, which in principle resembles the function of a throw tent. With a tendency to lie double, the rod becomes a large circle when it is bent upwards.the design team uses this element of tension deliberately to create natural soft curves. This gives the impression that the material is in a constant process of expansion and thus creates the seemingly floating and coherent form.
The Luau Collection endows its graceful stance through fine structural work. Palm leaf spines are aligned together and tied over a highly durable metal base which is then dipped in Salago fiber pulp.
The 21.1 is a single 21 pendant fixture with a shallow brushed nickel canopy designed to fit over an existing junction box in which the transformer is installed. The canopy is 116mm (4.5”) in diameter and 7mm (0.3”) deep, which creates a subtle profile that minimizes the impact in the application surface. The pendant drop lengths on this light fixture are adjustable up to the specified maximum.
The ‘m’ designation in this 21 variant refers to the mini canopy size. The mini canopy is just over 30mm (1.2”) in diameter and 11mm (0.4”) deep, which creates a subtle profile that will essentially disappear into the application surface. The pendant drop lengths on this light fixture are adjustable up to the specified maximum.
The ‘mo’ designation in this 21 variant refers to the mini outie canopy. The mini outie canopy is 38mm (1.5”) in diameter and 16mm (0.6”) deep, which creates a subtle profile that will essentially disappear into the application surface. The pendant drop lengths on this light fixture are adjustable up to the specified maximum.
The ‘mi’ designation in this 21 variant refers to the mini innie canopy. The mini innie canopy is 35mm (1.4”) in diameter (exposed), 88mm (3.5”) in diameter overall, and 35mm (1.4”) deep, which is meant to be mudded into drywall. The pendant drop lengths on this light fixture are adjustable up to the specified maximum. Note: not adjustable after drywall is finished.
Inspired by the sporadic, discordant arrangement of barnacles on a rock surface, the 21 is fabricated from thin sheets of porcelain wrapped around a trumpet shaped borosilicate diffuser. Each diffuser houses a low voltage lamp. A strong contrast is established between the organically distributed soft light passing through the white porcelain skin and the sharp, crisp light passing through the borosilicate glass diffuser.
