Moonsetter: The Story
In 2020, the Moonsetter was the winning design in the Next Danish Design Classic competition broadcast on Danish national television.
The competition judges immediately recognised the qualities of Moonsetter with its simple design, clean lines, and timeless feel.

The design of Moonsetter is based on basic geometric shapes with the circle, square, and cylinder merged in a unique and artistic configuration.
After creating the first prototype of the floor lamp for the design competition, Anne Boysen entered into a partnership with Louis Poulsen to create more design iterations.
The varying sides of the Moonsetter Floor Lamp in use
In 2021, the lamp was launched in Denmark in a limited-edition run of 100 pieces. The sculptural aesthetic of the floor lamp takes centre stage in any interior, almost like a piece of art. Its 360° rotating disc, which has a different finish on each side, allows you to play around and decide how the light should be reflected in the room – and exactly how the room should be reflected in the mirror surface of the lamp.
The Moonsetter invites you to interact and explore – seeing not only the quality of the design – but feeling it and sensing it, too. The lamp blurs the lines between sculpture and light source, serving an aesthetic purpose as well as a functional one. The impactful size of the Moonsetter naturally attracts attention, and creates a room within the room that can be shaped through reflections and light.
Moonsetter: The Concept
Moonsetter is a sculptural floor lamp in chrome-plated aluminium that has a rotating disc. This disc allows you to customise the reflection of the glare-free light emitted by the LED light source elegantly submerged in the frame.
The disc rotates 360° around its own axis and is white on one side and reflective on the other. Tilted towards the white side, the light becomes soft and diffused, whereas the opposite chrome side reflects the light panel directly for a completely different expression.
The light is directed according to the position of the disc. The surroundings are mirrored in the frame and the chrome side of the disc. The lamp offers stepless dimming and is turned on and off by the rotating footswitch on the cylinder.

The architect and designer works in the intersection between art, design, and architecture. Boysen’s work is defined by attention to detail, genuine craftsmanship, and a feeling of timeless aesthetics. Her architectural training is expressed in her consideration of how we relate to a space and the objects in it, from a broader perspective.
The physical and emotional feeling that can be expressed by a design object is important to Boysen. She works with the senses as a key component of the design experience, resulting in harmonious designs in dialogue with people and their surroundings. Boysen is a colour and material connoisseur, and her style and compositions continue to surprise the design world.
