The warm and friendly AJ Eklipta 220 indoor/outdoor wall sconce was the last of the AJ Eklipta size options designed. Three layers of hand blown glass create a uniformly-lit circular surface for AJ Eklipta, while a transparent edge creates an ethereal halo around the entire fixture. Designed for the new St. Catherine's College at Oxford University, Arne Jacobsen chose to reduce the size of his own AJ Eklipta--designed at 350mm and 450mm sizes for Rødovre Town Hall--to light the walls of the college's dining hall. Jacobsen sought to bring clean, organic lines and elegant functionalism to the college's furniture, lighting, and decor in order to honour the history and tradition of Oxford while still embracing modernist timelessness. The supple, charming--almost lunar--light of AJ Eklipta 220 wall sconce was a perfect choice then, and, with its IP65 rating, it remains a perfect addition to your bathroom, powder room, or outdoor lighting plan.
