You Recently Viewed... ‹ › Setareh 4384 Table This is the name of the family of lighting fixtures that Francesco Librizzi, a young Sicilian architect working in Milan, has designed for the first time for FontanaArte. Setareh was born of the idea of giving form to light. The lamp is composed of a sphere in hand-blown white satin glass, magically suspended within a thin metal structure. The play of circular masses and trajectories generates a balanced design of gravitational dynamics. The light from the sphere is diffused into the surrounding space, illuminating the frame. The reflections of the metal render the luminous field visible, space influenced by light, by its aura. The result is a collection of lighting elements, available in tabletop and suspension versions, of extraordinary poetic grace. The table version is available in two models while the suspension version comes in several variants: bare, with only the frame and glass sphere (also available with three spheres), with a diffuser in curved white glass (diameter 45, 65, 85 cm), or with a painted metal disc in white or black (diameter 45, 65, 85, 100 cm). FontanaArte No Setareh 4384 Table No Re Table/Floor Re and Regina are Cartesian axes of a universe that crosses ages and cultures. In 2020 FontanaArte reintroduces these glass lamps as a sign of the expressive wealth contained in the great repertory of ideas that is the FontanaArte catalogue and, most importantly an homage to the talent of an artist who had a gift for calibrating the formal tension of a utilitarian object on a quest for unity among the arts. Inspired by the game of chess with their sinuous shapes, Re and Regina are the key characters of the chessboard. Their profiles stand out clearly in the white light diffused by opalescent glass. Real individuals, they play in pairs alternating spheres, cylinders and rings of light. Vertical the King (Re), horizontal the Queen (Regina). They can be placed next to each other or in different spots in the same room, be used as floor or table lamps, on a coffee table or a desk, both Re and Regina have the presence to create a context.  The dimmer allows to modulate the light making it a surreal element with different degrees of intensity: an element of representation that releases energy in space when the light is bright, abstract and restful when the light is soft and low. Emma’s simple appeal and sinuous shapes adapt to different types of environments, be they residential, retail or hospitality. The idea for Tatu was born on a transoceanic flight; while Ricard was reading about Argentinean wildlife, he observed that the light above his seat did not disturb his sleeping wife who was sitting next to him. The lamp became a pop-art icon in Europe. Tatu takes us back to carefree days, when consumer goods came to the European middle classes and their children started a massive aesthetic revolution; from Andy Warhol to The Beatles to Mary Quant. Everything could be expressed differently. After nearly 50 years, Santa & Cole reedited this classic with improved lighting features. This flex­ible lamp consists of three parts that can rotate independently to adapt its use for a shelf, desk, or bedside table; it could even be used as a wall light (fittings included). Santa & Cole’s edition of the original Tatu is enhanced by applying LED technology. This makes the light intensity easily adjustable, and the light source considerably less hot and longer lasting. It also features a moveable converging lens that allows the user to adjust the focal length. One of Gio Ponti’s many compositional magic tricks, designed in 1932. The counterbalancing of two elementary geometric forms results in an original, perfectly proportioned object. An unpretentious composition, enriched by the extraordinary balance of its proportions and the stylish discretion of non-reflective materials.The light is diffused and valorized by the geometrical simplicity of the design. In designing Bilia, Gio Ponti imagined a smaller version in a range of “spray colours”. From those handwritten notes of the original project, FontanaArte presents Bilia Mini in new breathtaking chromatic variations. FontanaArte No Bilia Table No Bulb Table Polished chromium-plated metal base, hand-blown crystal glass from Murano. Bulb, designed in 1966, was included in 1969 into the permanent design collection of the MoMA in New York. Photographs shown here include a vintage one of our Munich Kaiserstrasse 47, location which at the time was the early 'Factory Outlet'. Today this location is one of our favorite Pizzerias, Passaparola. The Munich showroom which opened in 2008 is located in the inner courtyard directly behind this location.
