A layer of white Carrara marble and acid yellow tinted glass are sandwiched together to form an illuminated circular diffuser for this sculptural table Lamp. Set into a solid black Nero Marquina marble base, the veins of the Carrara marble are visible through the glass allowing the marble to appear yellow, giving this very classic material a playful twist.

Inspired by the simple beauty of nature, this piece features a dynamic reflector that can be directed to obtain an intense, precisely reflected light. The structure of the lighting body reduces the LED source’s visual impact, providing the user with a level of comfort that belies the design’s superior technology. The Serena is an adjustable lamp that provides indirect and reflected light. It features an extruded aluminum heat sink, photoengraved black polycarbonate (PC) cut-off, and a photoengraved optical Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) diffuser. The reflector is sheared and folded pre-anodized aluminum. The power cord measures 200 centimeters, and a dimmer switch provides ON-OFF functions and 10-100% light adjustment. Optunia Table

Optunia is a family of lighting elements that comes in four variants for tabletop (with or without stem), floor, wall and suspension. Its functionality lies in the possibility of rotating the two discs that make up the nearly 360-degree head, opening up an extraordinary number of lighting combinations. The lower disc rotates on one axis, while the upper disk simultaneously rotates on a second axis, perpendicular to the first. This double movement gives Optunia to the advantages of both direct and indirect light emission, which exploits the surface of the wall or ceiling to produce a soft light. Complementing its functionality is a design reminiscent of a form found in nature: the two disks resemble the pads of the prickly pear, Opuntia ficus indica, from which the lamp takes its name. A family of exceptional technical sophistication, whose form is further emphasized by its colors: opaque white, bold and clean; dark mirrored chrome, which recalls the preciousness of metal; a darker shade resembling onyx; and quartz, whose color shifts from dark brown to black. Alchemie T Table

The antithesis between light and dark, between Sun and Moon, is everlasting, like part of the same flow of existence. Many allegorical meanings have been given to the necessary relationship between two elements that each exist as a consequence of the other. The new lamp Alchemie T, designed by Giulia Archimede for Catellani & Smith, investigates this dimension whose components are diametrically opposed but always, and for ever, connected. Alchemie T is an exquisite sculpture composed of two discs: the former, made of alabaster and lit by LEDs, stays fixed, while the latter, made of brass, slides on a track-base made of Medea limestone just with a light touch of the hand.
