A layer of white Carrara marble and acid yellow tinted glass are sandwiched together to form an illuminated circular diffuser for this sculptural table Lamp. Set into a solid black Nero Marquina marble base, the veins of the Carrara marble are visible through the glass allowing the marble to appear yellow, giving this very classic material a playful twist.

Geometric Table/Floor

Geometric accentuates the aesthetic expression and structure of BROKISGLASS, which itself is remarkably distinctive. The collection is defined by basic geometric shapes that characterize the overall contours of the lights and instil them with a singular graphic element to achieve a striking contrast with the animate, almost sculptural makeup of the glass. The suspension components make up the glass geometric shapes, their edges rendered in black profiles. The lights can be arranged in multiple shapes – circle and oval – either as solitary lights or as a sort of jigsaw puzzle, which in the hands of architects results in an endless variety of lighting combinations. The concept surpasses its primary function as a lighting fixture and opens the door for large-format blocks of light and other uncommon compositions. Michael Anastassiades' Arrangements pendant lights show just how much a designer can do with a simple concept elegantly realized. The modular system consists of nine forms--circles, squares, lines, teardrops, and ovals--made from aluminium, silicone, and polycarbonate. The pieces can be suspended from the ceiling in any order, each hanging, like the links in a chain, from the one above. They connect using dovetail joints, which conduct electricity throughout the entire formation. Alchemie Table

The antithesis between light and dark, between Sun and Moon, is everlasting, like part of the same flow of existence. Many allegorical meanings have been given to the necessary relationship between two elements that each exist as a consequence of the other. The new lamp Alchemie T, designed by Giulia Archimede for Catellani & Smith, investigates this dimension whose components are diametrically opposed but always, and for ever, connected. Alchemie T is an exquisite sculpture composed of two discs: the former, made of alabaster and lit by LEDs, stays fixed, while the latter, made of brass, slides on a track-base made of Medea limestone just with a light touch of the hand.
