Babel Table

In the midst of the Spanish transition to democracy, a fresh, provocative group of artists and architects began to sow the seeds of what would later become a multicolour explosion of modern night bars, very popular in the early 1980s, contrasting with Barcelona’s grey, mundane paronama at the time. Àngel Jové was one of those urban conspirators. The lamp refers to the biblical story of the unfinished Tower of Babel, where humans were divided into linguistic groups, victims of their ambition. The Babel lamp, however, offers a different perspective; its robust tower is perfectly finished and shines with convening power. To use alabaster, solid or hollow, was considered an affront to predominant trends at the time. Alabaster was viewed as kitsch, without the constructive strength of marble, or the noble, translucent quality of onyx; it was scantly used by the souvenir industry for tourists. This handcrafted, one-of-a-kind piece is the ideal companion for late night conversations. A spectacular lamp that creates a mesmerising light and an intimate atmosphere.	Santa & Cole	No

Babel Table


Tekio Horizontal Suspension

Tekiò, the Japanese word for adaptation, merges ancient artisan techniques with Warm to Dim LED technology that enables control of intensity and colour temperature. Tekiò combines traditional and avant-garde in a unique and contemporary design, featuring modern lighting structures carefully dressed in handmade paper. Linear or circular shapes can be created by combining various modules. London designer Anthony Dickens was inspired by the traditional Japanese lantern made from washi paper, which dates back to the 14th century and is now an everyday object in the life of the Japanese. The paper, used by Isamu Noguchi to create the famous Akari lamps, has been inscribed on UNESCO’s List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Washi is resilient and ductile, even malleable. It has a warm texture that filters in a soft, gentle light. Gigi Table

Gigi table lamp is a sensual revelation. The result of a collaboration between Darmes and Verre d'Onge, its dual blown-glass diffusers combine opaque and transparent glasses to create a playfully ethereal effect. Realized through a creative process focused upon the expression and creation of pleasure, Gigi's subtle but proud form explores the interaction of the physical and emotional realms. Providing both upward and downward light, Gigi table light's integrated LEDs are dimmable and designed to warm as they dim, ensuring a soft, intimate ambience at lower lumen levels.	Darmes	No
