Simone Micheli

Designer Simone Micheli was born in Tuscany in 1964. His father was a painter and his mother was an art teacher. He graduated at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Florence. During his academic years, Simone was mentored by renowned architects and designers Giovanni Klaus Koenig, Giovanni Michelucci, and Bruno Zevi.
In 1990, Simone founded his architectural studio, and in 2003, an independent architecture and design firm, Simone Micheli Architectural Hero. The studio is based in Florence, Milan, and Dubai.
His professional practice is broad and multidisciplinary in scope. He has been involved in architecture, interior design, industrial design, and visual design. His creations, sustainable and always environmentally conscious, are characterized by a strong identity and uniqueness. The numerous projects he has carried out for local government bodies and major private patrons active in residential and community buildings have made him one of the main players in the field of architectural design in Europe. He has also designed lighting and furniture for companies like Terzani.
Simone himself describes his work as ‘sensory-emotional’: “Our human-being is nothing without emotions, and contemporary men use their senses to fulfill their desire to discover the world and to find their place in it, ” he explains. “Sensory architecture goes beyond the sense of sight, reaching out and satisfying the deepest needs of a human being. Each work of mine tells a very meaningful and emotional story, turning life experiences into something tangible, to lead men in the search for his wellness as well as a better way to experience everyday life. ”
Simone is also an educator. From 2003 to 2009, he taught in the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Florence. He has also taught at Poli. Design and at the Milan Polytechnic School of Design since 2003.
