Luca Mazza is a product designer and the Creative Director for the Italian lighting firm Slamp.
Luca was born with artistry and aesthetic sensibilities running through his blood. Growing up, he expressed his artistic passions through theatre roles with Agrigento’s Centro Studi Pirandelliani, chamber music concerts cum jazz improvisation, and the creation of an archive of illustrated historical events and re-elaborations of Greek literature.
Luca narrowed his creative impulses, originally expressed through varying disciplines, while studying Art Direction at Rome’s Accademia delle Arti e Nuove Tecnologie, where he perfected the style, semantics, and semiotics that characterize his work. He also won a scholarship, allowing him to specialize in Multimedia Design.
Today, his multifaceted work spans from visual communications and the design of objects, to training recent design grads.
As a designer, Luca’s vision has been described as “passionate, dynamic, optimistic, profound and sensitive, delving into the classics while luring one’s eye toward technological innovations. ”
In 2006, Luca joined the Italian design firm Slamp as a visual designer. In 2016, having worked on the brand’s stylistic evolution throughout the years, he became the company's Creative Director.
