Born in Sant Sadurni d´Anoia in 1969, Francesc Rifé is an award-winning interior and industrial designer based in Barcelona.
His professional career began at a young age, where, as an undergraduate, he was independently commissioned by a number of design and architectural studios. In 1994, he established his own studio in Barcelona — the Francesc Rifé Studio, which brings together experts in graphic design, photography, artistic direction, and various other disciplines. His design philosophy is inspired by the search for spatial order, geometric balance and solemn rational form:“We avoid fashion trends and staging, opting instead for a more sober and rational space architecture, and a more timeless aesthetic. . . Our task is to design carefully, trying to achieve a balance of forces, rather than insisting on every single detail, ” he explains.
Throughout his career, Francesc has received a multitude of awards in the field of design, including honors from the Contract World Awards, ICFF Editors Awards, the Ascer Prizes, and the FAD Awards. He has also been nominated by the National Design Awards and the Delta Awards for Industrial Design. His work has been featured in several design books, and widely reported on by press and in specialized publications both nationally and internationally.
Currently, Francesc combines teaching with an active role in workshops, congresses, and conferences throughout Spain and around the world.
