As the founder of two successful design practices, Jeff Forrest is dedicated to exploring the intersection of design, technology, and regionalism to create innovative products and solutions. With a multidisciplinary approach and a passion for material-centric design, he has gained recognition for his unique perspective and contributions to the industry.
Jeff’s journey began with a fateful motorcycle ride to a timber mill in Toronto, where he discovered the beauty and potential of excavated logs of 200 year-old native hemlock wood. This experience laid the foundation for his earliest proofs of concept and inspired him to establish STACKLAB, a systems-based multi-disciplinary design practice that has won representation from North America's top galleries and showrooms.
Building on the success of STACKLAB, he founded STACKABL in 2021 based on a case study that identified inefficiencies in regional manufacturing methods and provided a solution for waste products. STACKABL is a proprietary, patent-pending digital platform that allows designers and consumers to create customized, sustainable furnishings and lighting in real-time from remnant "waste" materials. By leveraging existing resources and streamlining the manufacturing process, they are reducing environmental impact, generating new streams of revenue, and transforming waste into valuable assets.
By leveraging the power of technology, Stackabl from Toronto, Canada, is giving waste a second life as high-end, customizable pieces for the home and beyond. Say goodbye to landfills, and hello to one-of-a-kind designer pieces.
A joint venture between STACKLAB and Maison Gerard, one of the world’s leading design galleries, Stackabl is a proprietary, patent-pending digital platform which allows designers and consumers alike to create customized, design-forward furnishings and lighting in real time from a live inventory of remnant “waste” materials from partnering manufacturers.
Stackabl leverages the resources of participating manufacturers, utilizing their existing machinery and personnel. Their cutting-edge proprietary software streamlines and automates the entire process.
With Stackabl, consumers can not only reduce their environmental impact, but also transform remnants into an asset, generating new streams of revenue and reducing the cost of surplus and waste management. With Stackabl, clients seeking to beautify their spaces can empower local economies while also curbing the carbon footprint.
