Chen Chao-Cheng, known in the world of lighting design by the name Meiric, had only six design drawings ready for development when he and a partner launched SEED Design in 1991.
Headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, SEED Design would--Meiric envisioned--produce sublimely beautiful lights that both enchanted and challenged design enthusiasts. Focusing upon dynamic shapes and classic silhouettes, and with special attention given to the quality of materials and craftsmanship used in production, SEED Design's first luminaire debuted in Europe in 1992.
More designs followed as SEED Design's international reputation grew. In an effort to protect this reputation, Meiric led SEED Design to purchase a factory of its own so he could oversee and guide the construction of every sleek and stimulating designer light the brand produced. This devotion to quality is expressed in every light SEED Design offers, along with their core values of Simplicity, Elegance, the ability to last for an Eternity, and--perhaps most important--the ability to inspire Delight.
