Notes from Milan: A Trend Report
EVENTS
1. Perfectly Imperfect
Textured, raw, and “imperfect” forms offered a counterpoint to sleek minimalism. These honest materials and finishes evoke hand-crafted authenticity. It’s a theme we expect to see grow across luxury and boutique hospitality projects.

2. Tubes Within Tubes
This “ship in a bottle” trend had major momentum, with FLOS, Melogranoblu, Vistosi, and Ingo Maurer all riffing on glass-encased-glass. We’re seeing layered translucency become a new way to play with light, shadow, and scale.

3. Coloured Glass and Green Everything!
Coloured glass continues to gain traction. New launches from Italamp and Multiforme leaned into saturated, jewel-like tones, with pieces that feel more like sculpture than fixture.

Colour Obsession: Sage & Subtle Greens
Green was everywhere, especially soft sage. It cropped up in lighting, furniture, and finishes, offering a calming, grounded aesthetic that works across sectors.

4. Sculptural & Statement Lighting
Rope-style LEDs and sculptural light-as-art installations are moving the industry toward a hybrid of function and fine art, perfect for hotel lobbies or creative commercial spaces.
