Our Favourite Marble Lights

Enhance your space with rich materials
Marble has always been about accessible luxury. Though prized and used by the same people who also had diamonds and pearls, it was used by artists - often hired by the diamond-and-pearl set - to create works of sculptural and architectural beauty enjoyable by all. The material has retained its allure even today, a sign of refinement, substance, and taste.
Check out some of our favourite marble luminaires below, each showcasing a unique personality and an elegant aesthetic.
Keshi Table Light from B.lux
David Abad has managed to create something both weighty and airy with the black marble-based LED lamp Keshi T for B.lux. Its wire-cage shade seems to suspend the cylindrical pedestal while casting a gentle vertical-patterned light.
Biagio Table Light from FLOS
Sculpted out of Carrara marble, the Biagio table lamp from FLOS has been pièce de résistance since its debut in 1968. Designed by the Venetian postmodernist Tobia Scarpa, whose work is in the permanent collections of the Louvre and the Museum of Modern Art, this lamp justifies mantles and elevates nooks with its extreme originality and gentle glow.
Setareh 4401 Table Light from FontanaArte
Designed for FontanaArte by Sicilian designer Francesco Librizzi, the Setareh table lamp is composed of a sphere in hand-blown white satin glass, magically suspended within a thin metal structure and grounded with a geometric marble base. The play of circular masses and trajectories generates a balanced design of gravitational dynamics.
KUTA Table Lamp from Nemo
An iconic design by Vico Magistretti for Nemo, the KUTA table lamp has a simple geometric design that recalls a solar eclipse. Its aluminium reflector (available in white or black) shields the light and is grounded by a spherical white marble base. An elegant object ideal for credenzas and bookshelves.
Snoopy Table from FLOS
Looking as much like a bike seat as the bust of its eponymous cartoon dog, Achille and Pier Castiglioni's design for FLOS can blend into the background before it captures attention and draws all eyes to its playfully elegant marble and glass silhouette.
Mano Table from FontanaArte
Though it may at first seem like a novelty lamp by an iconically impish lighting designer like Philippe Starck, the hauntingly humorous Mano table lamp from FontanaArte was designed by Pietro Chiesa in 1932, its base and distinctive handmade of marble powder and resin. A conversation piece, and a classic.
Chamber Pendant Series from Lee Broom
The clever flip, using marble as a diffuser instead of a base, gives the crystalline LED pendants Lee Broom's Chamber suspension collection of lights a distinctive look that is not soon forgotten.
Bola Table from Pablo
Pablo Design's Bola Disc table light has an iconic silhouette defined by its elegant chromed aluminium disc shade positioned at a 45 degrees. The shade can be rotated 360 degrees to provide various lighting options. Its cylindrical base is fashioned from white Carrera marble or Nero Marquina black marble, adding to its stately appearance and making it an idea desktop companion or credenza styling accessory.
Tube Suspension from Lee Broom
Tube linear suspension light represents Broom's most extreme marble-based playfulness, as it takes the standard fluorescent bulb shape and renders it in high-contrast Carrara marble, creating a luxurious and provocative luminaire out of quotidian origins.
Beta M Table from Parachilna
A mix-and-match series of stems, diffusers, and black or white marble bases allows you to create your own personal Beta M table light's from the basic geometric shapes designed by Viveca González and Shukri Girgis for Barcelona's Parachilna.
JWDA Marble Table from Menu
Organic but not figurative, grounded but effervescent, Swedish designer Jonas Wagell's new iteration of his already classic lamp for Menu offers a soft luminescence and a form that is utterly itself.
ISP Table Lamp from DCWéditions
A truly unique table lamp, DCWéditions' ISP table lamp is an elegant brass cylinder with LED tube inside that can be positioned in and out for varying degrees of brightness. The entire piece is held down with a white marble base, making it an ideal desk lamp for the modern home.
Marble Suspension from Innermost
Innermost has taken the image of marble and digitally printed shades to create not only apparent but actual weightlessness. Easily handled and placed, Innermost has given a lighthearted twist to this classically shaped pendant.
Doric Suspension from Innermost
James Barlett has taken the idea of faux marble up a notch with Doric pendant light, a Greek-inspired inversion for Innermost. Doric's patulous seashell of a pendant shade mixes the gravity of rose, black, or white marble with the freedom and translucence of resin sculpting.
Gravity Floor light from Gubi
The new Gravity collection of lights from Space Copenhagen for Gubi aesthetically contrasts strength and fragility. Taking its name from the lamp’s distinctive balance between the anchoring of the heavy, cylindrical marble base and the lightweight, airy shade, it beautifully merges into a sculptural whole. Gravity is also available in a table version. Its understated elegance makes it ideal for the contemporary home office.
