CrousCalogero is a product design consultancy founded in 2009 by long-time professional partners Francesc Crous and Alessandro Calogero.
“Our way of working is simple, ” they explain. “We try to get to the essence of things, eliminating what is superfluous, always with a focus on the human being. We don't like 'sculptural' objects, to admire from a distance. We want our objects to transmit a desire to be touched. Functional quality is a basic requirement we take for granted. On top of it we try to suggest a story, made of memories or sensations, to create that impalpable link between objects and people. "
CrousCalogero have collaborated with a long list of international clients, including Estiluz, for which they designed the eye-capturing ‘pila’ lamp series, uniquely composed of aluminum and cork. The studio has been awarded with a number of prestigious design prizes, including the Silver Delta in 2012 and the Delta Selection in 2014.
Francesc studied Product Design at the EINA Design School of Barcelona, and completed his studies at the Politecnico di Milano. He has previously worked with Martí Guixé, and was a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Roca Innovation Lab. Alessandro studied Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano. He has collaborated with designers Stefano Giovannoni, Guido Venturini, and Miriam Mirri, and has work experience at the LG Design Center in Milan and the Roca Innovation Lab in Barcelona.
Both Francesc and Alessandro are also teachers at the EINA Design School in Barcelona.
