Founded in 1995 by Stefano Bizzarri and Claudio Cinti, Bizzarri Design Associates is an architectural firm specializing in interior and industrial design, with a particular interest in innovation. They constantly experiment with new materials and methods, allowing the expression of each project dictate its media and how that media is used.
Moreover, their experimental daring is not limited to materials, but also reveals itself in their conceptualization. Their Via Lattea lamp, for instance, is moulded concrete in the shape of a classic dairy milk urn, from out the top of which flows a warm light directed to the heavenly firmament that shares its name (“Milky Way,” in English).
Cold stone and warm light; home and heaven; milk urn and galaxy—this playful balance of concepts is found again and again in Bizzarri Design Associates’ lighting creations.
Having spent twenty-five years designing objects and spaces for clients all over the world, Bizzarri Design shows no signs of slowing down. From their 2018 exhibition designed for Artelina Salone del Mobile Milano, to “Pepper,” the kitchen they designed for Composit in 2019, to their newest lamp for Karmen, the Girotondo—a child’s top, seemingly at once in motion and at rest, evoking the joy and innocence of childhood—Bizzarri Design Associates continues to be a daring and dynamic force in industrial and interior design.
