Description

The 14s/sp is an articulated, seamed cast glass hemisphere with a frosted cylindrical void that houses a low voltage lamp. Individual pendants are visually quite subtle, but gain tremendous strength when multiplied and clustered in large groups.

The "s" and "sp" designation in this variation on the 14 refers to it being surface mounted. The "s" can have it's power supplies mounted remotely, while the "sp" mounting plate is large enough to cover a standard North American junction box. The "s" and "sp" have a 55mm (2.2") and 115mm (4.5") paintable mounting plate respectively, designed for installation on walls or ceilings. Both models are also IP65 designated meaning that the 14s can be used outdoors and in other wet environments.

Bianca Wall/Ceiling

Bianca is a family of luminaires equipped with a fixed-mould blown cased glass diffuser with a milky white satin finish. The decoration on the diffuser surface features an orderly series of shallow delicate grooves etched into the white glass, yielding an effect resembling small footprints on fresh snow. Mouth blown, belt sanded and dipped in acid to obtain the distinctive 'silk effect' typical of fine glassware, Bianca diffusers are available in three different diameters to complete all thirteen types of luminaires belonging to the family. The largest diffuser has a 50 cm diameter and, owing to its dimensions and the amount of glass involved, continues to pose a considerable challenge even for the ablest of glassblowers trained in the fixed-mould blowing technique, which according to the traditional Venetian production process is performed without any external aids for turning and shaping the glass blob inside the mould, but relies solely on the glassblower's skill and lung capacity. Bianca is available in the following versions: table-top without stem, floor-standing with base and stem, pendant, wall-mounted and ceiling-mounted. The matt white coating applied to the various metal supports evokes the name and colour of the diffuser. The Small- and Medium-sized versions (with 16 cm and 30 cm diameter respectively) mount a dimmable LED board, while the Large-sized version (50 cm diameter) features an E27 lamp holder capable of housing various types of light sources. This variation of the 84 is surface mounted on ceilings and walls. The 's' model has a discrete 55mm (2.2”) mounting plate and has its power supplies mounted remotely, while the 'sp' model has a paintable 115mm (4.5”) mounting plate large enough to cover a standard North American junction box. Both are IP65 designated meaning that they can be used outdoors and in other wet environments. A white glass bubble is captured inside a fi ne copper mesh basket and then plunged into hot clear glass. Air is blown into the matrix to gently push the white glass through the mesh, creating a delicate pillowed form that is suspended inside the thick outer layer of clear glass. This version of the 73 is surfaced mounted to a ceiling or wall, with power supplies mounted remotely. The ‘s’ model has a discrete 79mm (3.1”) in diameter mounting plate, while the ‘sp’ model has a paintable 115mm (4.5”) in diameter mounting plate large enough to cover a standard North American junction box. Both models are IP65 designated meaning that they can be used outdoors and in other wet environments. The 73 is formed by blowing liquid glass into a folded and highly heat-resistant ceramic fabric vessel. The resulting shape has a formal and textural expression intuitively associated with fabric, which becomes permanent and rigid as it cools. Each 73 is completely unique in proportion, size and shape.
